An important charity film here for Heart Research UK, to raise awareness of Coronary heart disease, particularly the women who are affected by it.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) kills more than twice as many women as breast cancer in the UK every year, and it was the single biggest killer of women worldwide in 2019.
Despite this, it’s often considered a man’s disease.

Think how many times you’ve seen a woman have a heart attack or suffer from the symptoms of heart disease in film, TV or advertising? I personally can’t remember a single portrayal.

This is shocking and partly explains why the symptoms - which are subtly different to men - are less recognised leading to more deaths and serious illness.

The aim of this campaign is simply to try and change this. By powerfully dispelling the myth that heart disease is a man’s disease. It’s also HER disease.

Derek: Lead, Male, 45-55
Derek is a down to earth, amiable and working class bloke. He's a taxi driver... moderately overweight... likely to find him in a pub or greasy spoon than at the gym. He is the stereotypical archetype pictured when we see coronary heart disease sufferers in the media.

We're looking for real, down to earth faces here - you'd see this man in a Ken Loach film... or your local pub.

*We need a British accent here as there is dialogue - all regions welcome.
Elderly Man: Background / Extra, Male, 60-75
Our elderly man is a local and a regularly at the cafe. He walks back from toilet and nods to another local familiar face, Derek.

Looking for real, down to earth, kind faces here.

Fatima: Lead, Female, 40-49
Fatima works part time as a waitress at a local cafe. She has an unassuming look... average height, figure and body shape. She feels down to earth and motherly. Though this is all part of the misdirect - we don't expect her to be the one who goes into cardiac arrest and collapse. Let's confront the misconception that only men have heart attacks and more importantly, raise awareness as to what the symptoms actually are.

Must have the ability and willingness to play having a heart attack with total commitment and realism.

Our chef is hard working and conscientious, he's also the cafe owner. He gives Derek a wave from the hot plate.
